Isaiah 61:10I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Thoughts
Everywhere you look, people are waiting for good news. When will the COVID-19 curve flatten? Has the death toll peaked? Are my friends and family doing okay? When can we get back to work? Has my stimulus check arrived? Are things getting back to normal any time soon? Does Costco have toilet paper?

Well, here is some good news that you do not have to wait for: “You have been clothed in garments of salvation and arrayed in a robe of God’s righteousness.” Isaiah preached this some seven hundred years before Jesus died to make the statement a reality for us all. It’s a done deal – Jesus’ resurrection says so.

You have been covered in a designer wardrobe of salvation; your expert, old-world Tailor has stitched for you expensive threads that cover you in righteousness. You can be proud of the way it looks, loving the way it feels, knowing you will never outwear it.

And because HE clothes you in salvation, and HE arrays you in HIS righteousness, you can forget guilt and shame. Like going to your best friend’s wedding, lift up your chin, dance like all eyes are on you, and sing along with Isaiah, “I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God!”
