Verse: Psalm 25:1-3
In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.
2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,

Thoughts
I feel like someone needs to hear this today: you can trust Jesus with whatever you are going through right now.

This Psalm is powerfully encouraging. There are so many other things to trust, or to put our hope in. We can put our hope in the power of positive thinking, or our hard work, or our reputation, or our looks or talents, or what our friends think of us. But if we get our hope from those things, they will eventually let us down. Even good things (like our friends, or our churches) will eventually let us down because they are human.

But Jesus will never let you down. He alone is completely faithful. He alone loves with no strings attached. He alone sees you for who you really are and loves you completely. He alone speaks words of truth that you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.

So today if you are feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, and you aren’t sure where to turn, follow the example of this Psalm. Trust in Jesus. Put your hope in him. He will sustain you, hold you, protect you, encourage you, and fill your heart with his love.

Prayer
Jesus, I put my hope in you. Let me not be defeated or ashamed. I look to you alone. Fill me with your Spirit and strength and hope and love.
