Prayers For/From Your Heart

Verse:  1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. 12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Devotion
There are three amazing prayers buried in this passage. What I’m feeling led to do this morning with this, is to pray each of them over my life. I’m going to write them out below, and you are invited to pray them over your life too!

Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.  God I pray that you would lead me. I pray that you would go before me and clear the way for me. Show me what you have for me today, and each day. Thank you that I’m not wandering aimlessly through this world, but that you are my loving guide in all things. Open my eyes to see your hand leading me, Lord.

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.  God I pray that you would teach me to love like you do. I pray that you would increase my love for you and others. Increase my love so much so, that it overflows. Allow my life to be marked by loving others, and loving you. Let love be so prominent in my life, that others get hit by the overflow in how I treat them, speak to them, and love them.

May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. Jesus, I pray that you would strengthen my heart today. Following you can be challenging, confusing, and even painful sometimes. I need your strength so that I don’t fall into temptation to give up. I pray that you would give me endurance to keep following you, wisdom to know how to, and kindness to do it with love. I pray for your strength to fill the weak parts of my heart. Speak to me where I am discouraged. Lift me up where I am feeling down. Breathe your Spirit into my life where I am feeling dry and broken.
