Verse: Psalm 103: 1-5
Praise the Lord, O my soul, all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Devotion
How are you doing on the days after Easter? Easter is such a mountain-top experience, isn’t it? We celebrate the risen Lord. We remember that he died for our sins. But what about the next day? And the next? Are we back to the same old life? Going to work, caring for the kids, running errands?
Well before Jesus came to earth, the Jewish people were singing praises to the Lord such as Psalm 103. Even back then, they were praising him for forgiving their sins, saving them from hell, loving them and renewing their strength.
We do find Jesus on the mountain top. But we also find him in the valley in the everyday moments of our lives. We need to remember Easter every day. We need to praise the Lord with our souls regardless of where we are emotionally. He wants you to remember him and what he did for us. He wants you to be with him every day of your life. Praise the Lord, O my soul!!
Prayer
Dear Lord, we do want to praise you for all that you have done for us and all that you mean to us. We want to walk with you each day. Thank you for your love for us.
