Verse: 1 Corinthians 1:5
For in him you have been enriched in every way…

Devotion
Sometimes it’s the little verses that really get to you. I read this today and thought, “yes, God has enriched me in so many ways!” And as I meditated on this verse, it led me to gratitude.

That’s what I want to encourage you to do this morning as well. Take a moment right now, wherever you are, and hit the pause button. If you are at work, or watching your kids, or in between classes, just take a moment and think about all the ways that God has enriched you. List them out in a prayer of gratitude to him.

As you list them out, allow your heart to grow full of thanksgiving to him. Even list out the hard things that have happened recently, but that have drawn you closer to him, or shaped you more fully into his likeness.

Another verse I read today goes hand in hand with this: “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?” (Psalm 116:12)

I love it. How can I possibly repay God for how he has enriched me? How can I possibly thank him enough for his blessings in my life? This is the stuff of worship. The overflow of our hearts to God in love and gratitude is what has filled the imaginations of artists, writers, poets, and musicians for centuries. And it’s what fills the halls of heaven as well.

This morning, we can join the eternal chorus of praise and worship to our God. Let this theme fill your heart and mind, and overflow in love and gratitude to your God. For he is good. His love endures forever. And his blessings in your life are uncountable.

Prayer
Today let my heart be filled with a theme of praise and gratitude to you, my God. Even as the day to day tasks fill my to-do list, let my heart and mind be set on you.
