Verse: Luke‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭
“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.”

‭‭Devotion
There is no doubt that as a follower of Christ, a direct result of that includes a lifestyle that is opposite of what the world often preaches. When you compare living a life aligned with Christ to living a life aligned with the world; the two are mutually exclusive, meaning that there is no middle ground.

A direct result of being saved includes all of the things mentioned in Luke 6:35. “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend”. This means to love your enemy in every situation, and do good, and serve them just as Jesus would. Give to your enemy without hesitation. However, the verse doesn’t stop there. The verse continues to say “expecting NOTHING in return”. This requires a high level of kindness to be demonstrated. Serve your enemies, give to them, and show kindness in a way that is unconditional.

John 3:16 states “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This does not include conditions like: “whoever believes EXCEPT those that don’t return their cart at the grocery store”. So likewise, we should be serving everyone unconditionally, including our enemies. We should seek out opportunities to do good, and display the same love and kindness that Jesus displayed for us. I challenge you to seek out opportunities to serve those around you, including those that you perhaps do not necessarily get along with. I encourage you to pray this week for opportunities to arise.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to thank You for everything You are doing in our lives. Lord I ask for service opportunities to arise over this next week. I ask that you give us the strength and motivation to serve those people that come to mind in order to demonstrate the same unconditional kindness You gave to us. Please help us to continue seeking You out daily in prayer and in the word. In Your Heavenly Name I pray, Amen.
