Verse: Romans 10:14-15
14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Devotion:
In these verses, the Paul emphasizes the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. He presents a series of questions that highlight the essential role of preaching and sharing the Gospel. It is a reminder that faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes through the proclamation of the Word. It can sound obvious, but is an easy thing to get complacent with as a believer. Even though it is the single most important thing we can do with our lives, it can lose the priority it deserves as we get sucked into the routine and everyday stressors of life.

As believers, every single one of us are called to be messengers of the Gospel, to bring the good news to those who have not yet heard or believed. We have a responsibility to share the truth of Jesus Christ with others, so that they may have the opportunity to know  Him and experience His saving grace.

Paul’s words also remind us of the significance of being sent. We are not called to share the Gospel in our own strength or by our own initiative. Rather, we are sent by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and equipped with His Word. It’s ok if we don’t know the right words, He does. It’s ok if we don’t feel strong, He is. It’s ok if we feel unqualified, He is qualified. We are ambassadors of Christ, representing Him and His kingdom to a dark world in need of His light and salvation.

The imagery of “beautiful feet” in this passage is a powerful reminder of the impact our obedience to the call of Jesus to share His name can have. When we faithfully share the Gospel, we bring hope, joy, and transformation from death to life to those who receive it. Our willingness to step out in faith and proclaim the good news allows us to work as His vessels to bring power in the life changing name of Jesus. There is no greater purpose for our lives. The is no deeper value.

Don’t underestimate the power of our words and actions in sharing the Gospel. Every conversation, every act of kindness, and every opportunity to speak truth can make a difference in someone’s life. We may never fully know the impact of our obedience, but we can trust that God will use our efforts for His glory and the expansion of His kingdom.

If you’re like me, maybe this makes you feel guilty for not doing a “good enough job” at it. Maybe it makes you uncomfortable. Take a moment to sit and reflect on how it makes you feel. The good news here is, we are never on our own. God doesn’t want us to strive for feeling “good enough”. He doesn’t have a checklist for how many people we have to share with or how. Our sharing of His name is not meant to come from a place of guilt or obligation. Rather, it is an overflow of His love and work in our lives. As we grow in relationship with Him, our hearts for the world become more and more like His. We can put our trust in Him to help guide us to the right people to love and share with. We can rely on the Holy Spirit to show us how to love them like He does, and ultimately to give us the words to share if and when the time is right. Don’t feel guilt or uncomfortable, feel hopeful in knowing the more you come to know the Lord, the more you will come to be a beacon of light to reflect Him onto a dark world.

Prayer:
Lord, guide my words and actions to better reflect you. Help me to feel how important it is to share your name. Help me to rely on You to guide my words and the relationships in my life. Jesus, use me your vessel in a fallen world. Guide my steps to develop relationships with the people you want me to draw nearer to. Show me how to love them selflessly, the way you do. Holy Spirit, guide my words and discernment on when and how to share Your name with the people in my life, help me to be intentional and bold for Your names sake. Lord, thank you for the way that You used Your beliebers to teach me Your name. Thank You for finding me, changing my heart, and using me. I love you Lord. Amen
